Equestrian Vaulting & Riding
1st place, Junior Division, Gymkana Equestrian Riding Competition, August 2022
One of my favorite hobbies is in the equestrian world. I am an equestrian vaulter and rider. I enjoy learning different styles of riding such as jumping, dressage, western, and bareback. Though I’ve participated in both gymkhanas and vaulting competitions, my favorite part of this sport is being able to work as a team with these gentle giants.
This competition is based on multiple time-based trials, including different event consisting of speed pattern racing and timed games for riders.
Big Twist Vaulter Team, Blue Rider Stables, Egremont, MA.
Big Twist Vaulters is a part of the American Vaulting Association. With my team, I have traveled to various competitions in the Eastern region of the US. I am certified to compete nationally at the copper level and have won several awards. Our vaulting team has been recognized in the local newspapers including our wins at the October Fall Fest and a riding competition to support therapeutic riding program. I hope to continue vaulting on the west coast as there are many excellent training barns and nationally ranked teams.
The American Vaulting Association is a non-profit built to promote equestrian vaulting in the United States. The Association has more than 141 AVA vaulting clubs and affiliates in states from Hawaii to Massachusetts and Alaska to Florida. The AVA has more than 1,200 members in the United States and Canada. Vaulting's most prominent recognition as an equestrian sport was the inclusion as Artistic Riding in the 1920 Olympic Games.

Equestrian Vaulting
Equestrian vaulting is described as gymnastics and dance on moving horseback, which can be practiced competitively or non-competitively. I have competed on a registered American Vaulting Association team and helped develop and teach younger vaulters.
